I could be wrong but I have two nagging suspicions: 1. John Lydon is an eccentric genius and 2. this isn't a love song.
Ahh Bollywood and how they break out in dance and song that makes musical breaks in American musicals look realistic. If you've never seen one it can be quite an amazing explosion and in many cases wonderfully random. E.g. Starting as a small picnic ending as a royal size wedding in a single scene.
This is definitely one of those things where each is his own. I personally don't care for it and it had to be purely dreadful in the early 80's. A Disco themed Bollywood flick? I'd almost watch Mamma Mia........ almost.
I wasn't planning on posting anything this morning but I have so much Disco built up, might as well let this one go.
This one really is a real treat. Not only is it just ridiculous to make a Disco song called Disco and to spell disco throughout the entire song but what makes this one special is they're French. I don't know what about them being French makes this worse but somehow it just does.
See you all this afternoon with another Disco hit or two!
My guess is GG Allin got this lyric sheet from the wall in a gas station bathroom. That's where Rihanna's song, Umbrella came from.
I like to refer to this as "dad rock". Not rock music my dad would listen to (that was stuff like Chicago, The Beatles and even Steppenwolf), but rather how my dad would have looked/sounded like if he played in a rock band back when I was a kid with my friends' dads.
Hell, even the name of this band sounds like something a father would come up with. F.Y.I. to all fathers out there: I'm not very long from becoming a father myself and no the irony in foresite isn't lost on me.
